week 14

Well, I wasn’t expecting to like google docs, but I did.  I tried a spread sheet and found it very easy to use for page schedules.  I will certainly try using this next time.  I have always made up my own template for schedules, and haven’t used excel for this because excel is so difficult to use for this task.  There are far too many little boxes, but the spread sheet on google docs was fabulous.  I really liked the ease with which I could use it.  It was very user friendly.

week 12

Well, I have tried both, and must admit that the enet library was so much easier to load than the overdrive was for the first time.  My only complaint was that I had to try 5 or 6 titles before I found one available.  I don’t know if there is a browsing screen where you can just wander and look at titles, but I didn’t find it and that would have made it easier for me.  Overdrive does have a new titles area and I often look there first.

I would certainly use either one of these options, and once you have gone on initially, then it really is very simple in both formats.

week 12 – e-audio

I just want to say that this is finally something that I can do.  I have been putting books onto my mp3 player for about 2 years now, and I love it.  It makes the drive to work so much shorter when you’re listening to a book.  I don’t find it any more distracting than listening to the radio. 

Maybe this will give me enough confidence that I will be able to finish these assignments.

I’m finding it hard to get the time to do this regularly.  I have read the task for this week, and am not sure how I will use it, but I will try anyway.

back again

I lost my password, and so have been unable to write on my blog for about a month now.  I am still trying to add pictures and will try again later.

I think I’m a fairly bright person, but I cannot figure out how to upload pictures onto my blog. It’s as if there is another language, and no one ever taught it to me.  I follow the directions, and then there is nowhere to go.  I am totally lost.

Millions of people do this, why can’t I, and why can’t someone write directions in english?

Well, I have saved some rss feeds and it is neat to get the feeds automatically.  I saved a couple of cbc feeds, and the New York Times Book Review feed. 

I’ve looked at some of the other blogs, and most of you are light years ahead of me.  I’m going to try adding photos next.

This isn’t as hard as I thought it would be.  There just aren’t enough hours in the day to do everything though.  I’m still really not sure why anyone else wants to hear total strangers ramble on about nothing.  Am I the only one that thinks this way?

first time

Well this is very strange,  I never thought in a million years that I would be posting anything on my own blog site. 

I’m not sure what it is I’m supposed to do, but here goes.  I’m 59 years old, I work in a library and this is part of my training, setting up my own blog.

I have been happily married for 36 years and have 3 great kids and a grandson.  I will try and think of something more interesting for next time.
